Surgery is not the only solution for pain relief. MidAmerica Orthopaedics has a team of specialists who can accurately diagnose the cause of pain and offer multiple options for addressing it.
Feeling pain in your back is very common. “About 90 percent of the population experiences back pain at some point in their lives and 75 percent have a recurrence of their pain,” according to George E. Charuk, DO.
As a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation at MidAmerica Orthopaedics, Dr. Charuk treats patients with a range of musculoskeletal problems, but his main focus is caring for patients with spine pain ranging from the neck to mid to low back. He has spent more than two decades in this field and has been asked to share his expertise on spine health and rehabilitation at international medical conferences. He has written on variety of topics and trained others at Loyola-Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago.
Dr. Charuk believes that “the best way to heal the body is to help the body heal itself.” When a patient suffering with back pain comes to see him, “we start with a clean slate and figure out what is going on,” he says.
